It’s that time of the year again folks! And whether you love it or hate it, a good Christmas film always gets me in the spirit! So, let’s see what we have on everybody’s favourite online streaming site to get you into that Christmas mood.

1. Home Alone
Now, I personally was so excited to see this Christmas movie classic on Netflix! If you haven’t seen it, I’m not sure how – but you need to! It’s a film about a little boy who gets left in his house over Christmas while his family go off on vacation. Two ‘bonehead’ burglars try to break into the house on Christmas eve – but the little whiz kid played by Macaulay Culkin is certainly a match for those two.

2. Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special
Yes, I know it’s not a film and I know I have mentioned the series on a previous list – but the Christmas special of Gavin and Stacey is a must watch for me every single December. It tells the tale of Christmas with the families at Gwen’s house alongside Gavin telling his family some big news. All the usual drama and antics of an episode, but with a big ol’ Christmassy twist!

3. Jingle All The Way
This is another amazing classic about a workaholic father who seemingly neglects his wife and son. He tries to do all of his Christmas shopping last-minute and runs into a lot of trouble along the way. We’ve all been there, and it’s a funny, heartwarming watch!

4. Arthur Christmas
Now, this does seem like a kids film – but aren’t we all kids at heart when it comes to Christmas? This film answers the question ‘How does Santa deliver all of those presents?!’ Of course, he does it by a crazy underground operation! But at the centre of this film is a story about a family and an unlikely hero – Arthur with a big mission to fulfill before Christmas morning.

5. A Christmas Detour
This film is definitely a more mature and comedic movie, so if you aren’t into Christmas animations, this is for you! Two New York travellers get stranded and rerouted to a hotel in Buffalo when trying to get home for Christmas. The two come together while trying to get a couple they meet along the way to Connecticut for the holidays. Along their journey, there are plenty surprises in store.
